COVID-19 Update

The new Stage 4 restrictions announced by the Victorian Government includes closure to office and retail businesses which come into effect as of 11:59pm 5 August 2020 across our Victorian Mirvac Office and Industrial buildings.

These restrictions require the closure of all non-essential businesses and others to be restricted in how they operate. To summarise, the three categories are:

1. ‘Open for Onsite Work with a COVIDSafe Plan. This includes essential front-line businesses such as supermarkets, grocery stores, bottle shops, pharmacies, petrol stations, banks, newsagencies, post offices —plus everyone involved in frontline response — will continue to operate.
2. ‘Restricted Operations or Industry Specific obligations’.  This includes Industries that are permitted to operate — but under significantly different conditions such as food production, waste collection or supply chain logistics.
3. ‘Closed’. This category will have to cease operations for the next 6 weeks and includes non-essential industries such as retail, some manufacturing and administration.

Full details about which businesses remain open can be found here at the DHHS website.

All previous restrictions relating to social distancing remain in place:

For those who fall into the category of essential services you must have no more than one person per 4 square metres in the workplace
Keep 1.5 metres between yourselves and others
Wearing a mask is compulsory in all parts of Victoria

All Mirvac Office and Industrial buildings located in Victoria remain open in order to accommodate employees of essential and open businesses, however access to the buildings is strictly by access card only.  That is to say, there will be no public access to our buildings.

Mirvac continues to manage its assets in accordance with the Code of Practice: Managing the work environment and facilities, to manage health and safety risks for all building occupants.

The cleaning protocols specifically designed to cater for COVID-19 continue to be implemented across all assets and these include:

Increasing the frequency and intensity of our cleaning efforts of all commonly touched surfaces including seating, doors, lift controls, countertops, and amenities.
Placing sanitisation stations at convenient locations including entrances and exits.
Actively encouraging the practice of good hygiene and preventative measures throughout the building.
Issuance of a health notice to all contractors and employees advising how to prevent the risk of transmission. Implementing an additional step to the building sign in process, requiring all contractors to confirm they have not travelled overseas, or been in contact with a confirmed COVID-19 case in the past 14 days.
Signage and information on display throughout the lobby and common areas of buildings on practising hygiene and preventing the spread of COVID-19

If you, or any person you are in contact with is feeling unwell (in particular experiencing flu-like symptoms such as coughing, sore throat and fatigue, fever and or shortness of breath), the recommended advice is to phone a General Practitioner (doctor’s practice) or hospital for instructions first.
